Who Are We?

Governors aim to help the school provide the best education for each and every one of its pupils. Together with the Headteacher and leadership team, Governors lead the school, setting the vision and establishing the right culture to drive forward improvements to ensure the best life chances are secured for every child.

There are several "types" of governor, e.g., LEA, community, parent and staff, but they are all elected from the local community. Click here to see who our current governors are!

At North Baddesley Infant School, the governors are involved with the day-to-day running of the school, as well as major decision making responsibilities. Although many of these day-to-day matters are delegated to the Headteacher, governors are consulted and informed of new initiatives.

Governors are responsible for helping to guide strategic direction of the school and are always asking "How can I make this a better school?" Governors are involved in planning and prioritising school improvement and ensuring the school provides value for money. They should be a critical friend by supporting and challenging ideas and hold the school to account for the standards and quality of education it achieves.

At North Baddesley, the governors are committed to following the 5 key aims of the Every Child Matters agenda and these are embedded into the school’s 8 Aims. If you are interested in becoming a governor, please speak to the Headteacher or one of us.
